Xmas Cutout Cookies

1 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

3 cups flour

2 tsp baking powder

Preheat oven to 350

In a small bowl, combine flour and baking powder; set aside.

In medium bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Add flour mixture one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Roll out dough and cut out cookies. Bake on parchment-lined baking sheets for 12 minutes, or until golden brown.

Transfer to wire racks to cool completely before decorating.
